Ahhh, yellow--a color easy to get wrong at home on the walls. I liked your renderings!
My yellow story: dark rooms, heavy shade from giant trees around the property, a perfect yellow should do the trick. Brought home six little paint cans of similar shades and painted large squares in a couple of the rooms. Picked the best one, and had to live with that frosty, lemon-banana shade that screamed out a rockin' Caribbean playlist even when the speakers were off, for about two years. For me, leave the paint colors to the professionals was my lesson learned. ;-)
:-D Would love to see photos of this room! Good for you for going bold though, even if it turned out to be off the mark :-). This wall colour issue is what turned me on to interior design - My now husband and I went to pick a shade of blue for an accent wall. We stared at the sea of hundreds of blue options, and turned around and left about 20 minutes later! Trying to pick a shade of blue had defeated us, but we left united in our resolve to find an interior designer!
Thanks, and I think it’s interesting to see that these associations are so random and temporal. Hopefully pink can soon be just another colour, like yellow, without all the gender baggage it current carries on its shoulders!
I love all of this! When my daughter was little, I painted her room a lovely yellow called American Cheese. I decorated it with three brightly framed posies and other assorted happy things. She said to me, mommy this room is really pretty but it is like the sun is ALWAYS ON and I cannot sleep. Whoopsie... I guess it was a bit TOO bright. ;)
:-D Oh I love that story! Indeed, such a great colour but perhaps not the greatest choice for bedroom! Doing only the wall behind the bed might work because we can’t see much of when we’re laying in bed :-). Did you have to repaint her room?!

No, we put in light blocking curtains. ;)
AHHH!! Best of both worlds! Great solution!
