Absolutely loving the Eames chair in pink – very feminine indeed with all those curves! Personally, I enjoy using pink for subtle accents rather than going all-out with bold walls or large furniture pieces. By the way, I stumbled upon some armchairs upholstered in pink tartan – what a dreamy sight! I can already picture myself relaxing in Room No.4, enjoying a good book and sipping on a martini 🍸.
Hi, thanks for your comment! Pink is indeed a great colour for accents too. Pink tartan armchairs ?!! = absolutely dreamy ! Would love to see them! Literally just a few minutes ago I did my first post of the week for Orange Week (I’m doing a colour a week) and I commented how much love plaid, especially in unexpected colours! So fun! Great for a drink sipping vibe 🍸👍🏽!
Yeah, the gender bias of pink and blue carries intense emotions from the young ones I have worked with over the years. "Pink is for girls!" or "Girls can't wear blue," will invoke my obligatory four days in a row of wearing a variety of pink shirts. ;-) All snarky Barbie comments aside (I have nothing against snark!), pink has a permanent place in the interior design world.
I love that you have a pink shirt week reaction 💖! Pink is for girls runs deep, though…with the right kind of marketing campaign and cooperation from toy and clothing brands, it could probably be changed in a generation.
And I agree, pink has an important permanent place in interior design - cultural baggage asks aside , many shades of pink are quite pleasant to look at, from soothing blush to exciting magenta . Barbie movie has increased the use of pink, but it’s still so gendered that we need another mass cultural perspective. Men Do Pink Too. :-)
Oh thank you, it’s lovely to hear that you enjoyed it!
