028. 10 Joyful Colour Combinations
From quiet contentment to frenzied fun, try one of these palettes for a burst of colour happiness at home!
This week, I’m offering up ten wonderful (says me) colour palettes, drawn from room images I’ve done in the past.
It was so much fun deciding which colour palettes to include. I loved reading the Pantone colour names, and I ADORED creating my own names for these colour palettes! I need this task to be included in one of my future job descriptions.
Let’s have a look, shall we?...
1. ADULT CANDY
Sweet, grown up.
2. SUPER SWEET
Sweet, before it grew up.
3. VERY HAPPY
Leaning into ‘life is good’.
4. SPICY CHILLAXING
A stylised version of the Rastafarian colours that were omnipresent during my youth in the U.S. Virgin Islands, right down to the brown & black of dreadlocks. To me it’s calming, yet still bursting with Caribbean energy.
5. MIAMI NIGHTS
I did my first year of university in Miami. My weekends looked a lot like this.
6. PLEASANT HAPPY
Without a care in the world - easy & wholesome.
7. GOOD ITCH
This might be my fav! The combination is slightly dissonant, but in a very satisfying way.
8. ICY FUN
Edgy & cool but without being abrasive - the neon green is called Love Bird, after all.
9. RETRO CHIC
1970s too cool for school vibes.
10. TRADITION POPPED
Old musty library meets bright orange - juxtapositions are interesting.
Tempted to go buy some paint?!
Do you have a room at home that would benefit from a makeover in one of these colour palettes?
-Vanessa :-)
I love these combinations, Vanessa! My favourite is 'Icy Fun' I think!
Also loved hearing your voiceover.
